EMBORIOS

Emborios is the farthest hamlet from the islands capital town. In ancient times, it was a trade centre with the bay being sheltered by the islands of Telendos and Kalavros.

It is dotted with small houses along its main road and small tracks that you can walk down during your stay. A lovely blue domed church stands at the center of the village with an impressive bell tower overlooking the bay of Emborios. A few types of accommodations are available in Emborios as well as some good cafes and local tavernas. A couple of pristine beaches located within a short walking distance from the village offer a refreshing swim and unique scenery.

It is worth paying a visit to the Castle (Kastri) where there are parts of Cyclopean walls, as well as to the tower.
